I first met Adrienne Herro years ago, when she was the coolest girl in New York and a stylist to boot. At the time, I was a fledgling fashion writer and could not believe my good luck when Herro took me under her wing. I learned many important life lessons from her but also several sartorial tips including how to apply a smoky eye, scoring black leather cuffs from West Village sex shops, and the benefits of Commes des Garcons perfumes. I also got to raid her wardrobe once or twice. Talk about fashion heaven.
We’re still pals and now, we both call Hollywood home. Today, Herro’s turned her amazing eye towards design and crafts a line of handbags called Hide Bags.
I’m still enviable of her easy, breezy, beautiful style, influenced by her equestrian forays, and can’t help but get back into that closet!
Sadly, we’re not the same shoe size. Oh, well. Can’t win ‘em all. I was stoked however that Herro is HSS’s first Style Sheet subject. Let the shop talk begin!
